Hi there! I’m Guilherme Miranda, a Brazilian software engineer based in Dublin, Ireland, currently working on Android at Toast.
I started building Android apps as a student and have stuck with the platform ever since. Over the years I’ve worked on products across pretty different domains, from digital banking to video streaming and sports tech. What I care about most is building apps that people actually enjoy using. The kind of apps I’d want to use myself.
Before Toast, I was at Joyn (ProSiebenSat.1) in Berlin working on Android TV, at Accedo.tv on apps like NBC Universal+ and 1001, and at Banco Inter, one of the biggest digital banks in Brazil. I graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
These days I work mostly with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and while my focus is Android, I’m always open to stepping into adjacent areas when there’s a good problem to solve.
Outside of work, I’m into coffee, running, and the occasional side project. My most recent one was Reviving my old Kindle. I also write here on the blog, mostly technical posts on Android and engineering, but occasionally other things I think are worth sharing.
